How to Connect your Sunpower Reserve to the Wifi

  • 0:01
Here we are at our SunPower Reserve. To connect this up to the network, we just need a smart device.
  • 0:07
So we'll be using an iPad. You can also use your phone, or a laptop will work as well. to connect to the inverter's internal access point.
  • 0:16
Now, this is going to display as a Wi-Fi network in your settings. So we'll jump into our settings, go to our Wi-Fi network. And you can see here we're looking for the inverter serial number as a Wi-Fi network.
  • 0:30
So this should begin in SOD, and then the inverter serial number. So we'll go ahead and get onto that. Your password is going to be 12345678. And we'll just hit Enter there.
  • 0:45
Once your device is connected to this network, we can jump onto a browser. So we're going to use Safari, but Chrome and Edge will work just as well.
  • 0:56
Now, at the top of your browser here, we need to type in an IP address. This is going to be 10.10.10.1. So 10.10.10.1 And we'll just hit Enter there.
  • 1:14
This brings up our inverter control page. And you can see down the bottom that we've got a section for our wireless LAN connection. Just make sure this little icon up the top here is saying Wi-Fi.
  • 1:25
Now, you can see we're connected to an old network and our connection has failed, so we need to fix that up. Go ahead, down the bottom here, you'll see two buttons, Save and Scan.
  • 1:33
We want to click on Scan. This is going to bring up our available networks that our inverter can see. So we want to select our home network from here.
  • 1:46
In this case, we're going sue-internet. Let's enter our password. And we'll hit Connect. Set Success, that's what we want to see. If this comes up Set Fail, don't need to panic, just go through the process another one or two times.
  • 2:05
Sometimes it's if at first you don't succeed, try and try again, and it'll work on the second or third go. We'll hit Close and we'll just refresh the page to see our new settings.
  • 2:16
Beautiful, we've come up, we're connected to our home network, Connected OK. Now, the inverter might take a couple of minutes to show this new connection, so you can just give it a little bit of time.
  • 2:26
And then, following that, it may also take another few minutes to begin reporting to the portal, to the SunPower portal that you'll see on your phone.
  • 2:34
And if it's been offline for some time, it has a back load of data that it needs to upload to the server, so it can take some time to begin fully showing you the display as you're used to seeing it.
  • 2:45
And that's all we need to cover for your Wi-Fi connection.
