Tesla Powerwall
Tesla Powerwall 3 (PW3) has a built-in solar inverter, which takes the energy captured from the solar panels and converts it to usable energy. The PW3 will firstly direct this energy towards household loads, with any surplus energy then diverted to the on board battery.
Once all household loads and battery charging has been taken care of, the PW3 will then begin to send energy towards the electricity grid. This exported electricity will be consumed by neighbouring properties in exchange for further savings on your electricity bill.
If/when there happens to be a power outage, the PW3 will continue to power your household loads for as long as there is energy remaining in the battery. An added feature of the PW3 is that the solar panels will continue to contribute to charging the battery in the event of an outage.
As the PW3 is a fully integrated Battery & System, this allows for a simplified installation, which leads to cost savings which can be passed down to you, the customer.
