IT’S STILL BATTERY SEASON

Have the battery rebates finished?

The short answer is no.

Yes, it’s true that the battery rebate was reduced at the beginning of May. However, the good news is that the rebate is still available. Whilst the incentive is now slightly lower, it continues to provide significant savings for households looking to install battery storage, making batteries more affordable and accessible than ever.

Why is now still a good time to install a battery?

With electricity prices continuing to rise and feed-in tariffs remaining low, battery storage is becoming an increasingly attractive option for homeowners and businesses alike. The main benefits of a battery:

  • Greater Energy Security

A solar battery keeps your essential appliances running during outages. Meaning you’re not left in the dark when the grid fails.

  • Lower Power Bills

Instead of buying electricity at peak rates, you can use the energy you’ve  already stored. This helps reduce your reliance on the grid and cuts ongoing
costs.

  • Better Use of Your Solar Power

Without a battery, excess solar energy is sent back to the grid. With a battery,
you keep that energy for your own use.

  • Long-Term Savings

With rising electricity prices, storing your own power gives you more control over your energy costs. When paired with available solar battery rebates, the return on investment becomes even more appealing

  • Dramatic reduction in battery prices are largely offsetting reduction in rebates.

How do you claim the battery rebate?

As a home or business owner you don’t need to do anything to claim the rebate. KDEC will apply for it and deduct the value as a point-of-sale discount.

When is the best time to act?

If you’ve been considering battery storage, now is a great time to explore your options. The rebates are still available, battery technology continues to improve, and there has never been a better opportunity to take control of your energy costs.
One common misconception we encounter is that waiting may lead to larger rebates in the future. This is generally not the case. Government incentives tend to reduce over time rather than increase. The current rebate is to diminish year-on-year until being completely phased out in 2030.
By installing a battery while current incentives remain available, as a home owner or business you can begin reducing their electricity bills immediately while securing today’s rebate levels.
