Electric Vehicles Charger

The lifeline that powers the transition to a cleaner, greener future

KDEC Electrical & Solar have been preferred electricians and electrical service provider in Albury-Wodonga & surrounding areas for many years. We are dedicated to create a cleaner, greener future.

Electric vehicle chargers represent the vital link between electric vehicles and the energy grid, facilitating the replenishment of battery power essential for continued mobility. These chargers come in various forms, from home charging stations to public charging networks, each catering to different needs and scenarios of EV users.

As the demand for EVs continues to soar, the importance of an extensive and accessible charging cannot be overstated.

Why you should choose to have an EV Charger at home

As an owner of an electric vehicle, having your own EV charging station at home makes perfect sense due to the various advantages it offers. These include:

Convenience

Plug in your EV overnight and wake up to a fully charged battery, or charge for free harnessing power from the sun utilising your solar system, avoiding the need to visit public charging stations, wait in line, or adjust your schedule around charging times

Cost Efficiency

Home charging is generally cheaper than using public charging stations. Since you can take advantage of lower electricity rates during off-peak hours, potentially saving money on your overall energy costs. You can also choose to get a solar-compatible EV home charger.

Time Efficiency

Save time by charging your EV while you sleep or go about your daily activities at home. This eliminates the need to spend extra time travelling to and from public charging stations and waiting for your car to charge.

Better Battery Health

Home chargers typically provide slower, more consistent charging compared to some high-speed public chargers, which can be better for the long-term health and lifespan of your EV’s battery.

Increased Property Value

Installing an EV charger can increase the value of your home. As EVs become more popular, having a home charger can be a desirable feature for potential buyers who own or plan to own an electric vehicle.

Sustainable Charging

If your home is equipped with a solar power system, you can charge your EV using renewable energy, reducing your carbon footprint even further and promoting sustainable energy practices.

The EV Time to Charge Guide is only an estimated time to fully charge your EV. Please only use this as a guide and consult your car manufacturer. Please note cars have different types of batteries and time to charge is not an indication as to the range available. ie a Tesla has a 400-500km range and so a standard domestic Australian socket will take longer to fully charge.
